In 1703, Eugenio Casparini, organ builder for the Saxon Royal Court, completed his masterpiece, the magnificent solar organ in the oldest and largest church of its kind in Saxony. The Peterskirche, as it is known in Görlitz, was built on the walls of a castle church from the 11th century and has been the city’s official municipal church since 1372; the baptismal bell also dates from this period.

At the north entrance (106 cm), wheelchair access is possible via 2 mobile ramps with a gradient of 18% over a length of 1 metre.
Access at the south entrance has steps and can be used with an accompanying person if necessary.
We kindly ask you to register in advance by telephone in order to be able to guarantee accompaniment and open access.
Unfortunately, the church does not have a barrier-free WC. The nearest toilet is located in Apothekergasse 2, 02826 Görlitz.
