Wonderful location, wonderful programme: In the picturesque setting of Altdöbern Castle, top French tenor Cyrille Dubois performs French vocal music from the late Romantic period to the present day. The songs by Francis Poulenc, Ernest Chausson, Gabriel Fauré and Louis Beydts refer to the reverence for nature that so fascinated Belle Époque France, but also to the poet Louise de Vilmorin's view of the world, and evoke associations with the flair of the Parisian salons. In this repertoire, Cyrille Dubois, who is at home on the best stages of the opera world, is accompanied by his long-time piano partner Tristan Raës.
The evening begins with contemporary sounds: »ENTRE PARENTHESES ()« is a new work by composer and conductor Sylvain Cambreling. He has set texts by Jules Supervielle and Paul Éluard, two important French poets from the first half of the 20th century, to music. The piece will be premiered this evening in Altdöbern in the interpretation of Cyrille Dubois and João Barradas.
