The Israeli trumpeter, composer, and bandleader Avishai Cohen is one of the most sought-after personalities in the international jazz scene. He and his »dream team« – Yonathan Avishai (Piano), Barak Mori (Bass), and Ziv Ravitz (Drums) – have created a style rooted in the Bebop and Post-Bop traditions that has a cool and sometimes melancholy serenity. With his contemporary yet lyrical sound, Cohen evolves new musical impulses and is not afraid to comment on political injustices such as racially motivated police violence in the USA.
