About the production

In this extensive exhibition, eleven different photographers document the artistic highlights of the Lausitz Festival since 2020.

A collection of images of both people and places will display the broad diversity of this European art festival’s offerings, capturing the fleeting nature of the creative moment while preserving it for the ages. These photographic impressions allow us to glimpse the intimate expressive gestures of the artists as well as the atmosphere of their playing, singing, or movement at the moment of creation.

The exhibition will also feature photographs of the Lausitz Festival’s wide variety of locations and venues – historic palaces and parks, cinemas, industrial areas, and sacred structures. These images oscillate between documentation and suggestion; the photographers chronicle architectural details as well as abandoned villages and empty landscapes. This rich variety of atmospheric moods provides the photographs with a depth that goes beyond mere documentation, creating an emotional bond with the people and places depicted.
